(This poem was made for my two nieces when they were little. They’re not so little anymore.)
Butterfly and Flower
Forever connected in a life cycle
Sisters and Friends
Together in heart whenever
Traveling cross-country
Or over a simple stream
Each other, the friend or sister
Is all they could ever need
Butterfly
A simple rose in the path
Blooming into a known
Flower
A snake in the grass
Yet much more profound
Never could anyone separate them
Death might even fail
For who knows what their souls know
Who could even tell?
Always on the road through life together
Always relying on the other
Not even death can separate
Butterfly and Flower
