Hey, you are totally interested in whats been going on in my writing life, right?
That’s okay, too. I’ll have a few more poems posted throughout the month. I’ll keep up my Monday poetry for your sake. That’s why people visit. And that’s okay. Thanks for visiting me.
In my writing life, I have been figuring out how many stories I have and what’s in a decent state to publish. You can look at the massive list here: WIPs Over 200!. Yeah, I’m over 200 stories in some state of creation.
While looking at that list, I decided to put my bonus Leagende stories into a print format. I published that last night *fingers crossed*. KDP takes longer to review paperbacks than ebooks. If something is wrong, I’ll fix it and get it publish ASAP. When it does, I’ll make a quick post on facebook and twitter.
The cover for Leagende Bonus is basic like the rest of the series. I do not add in the opening to Unwise like I did in the Leagende Series ebook. Besides that, it’s the bonus content that isn’t the main six stories. It didn’t require any editing because that was done already. All I had to do was format the book. Done and done. Hopefully KDP agrees.
It might yell at me for having The Hair Incident on the blog. If that is the case, the short will leave the blog so I can publish the paperback. Amazon hates sharing.
As for writing side of things, I’ve been working on Dove. Dove hasn’t been easy to handle. I love the story. I know it’s value. I know it’s needed. I refuse to hand you the mess even if it would help someone at the point its at.
It would hurt too many people right now too. I have to make sure my messages align correctly. Otherwise it may seem Terfy or hate filled. Like how some of my work ends up being racist. I don’t always notice the notations. My first drafts normally have things like sexism and racism and homophobia and hate all over the place. I’m just throwing down words. I’m matching to people I know and situations I’m used to. So when I go back I have to make sure it’s not as bad as what I deal with in real life, or the situations are showed as a negative.
As long as the message says hate is bad, then I can accept it in the story.
Dove is being impressively difficult. Because I have so many threads weaved about. I need this rewrite done. Then I’ll be setting it up as a trilogy. I have an idea where the first cut off is already. I should’ve just passed where book two ends. That means I’m going into book three of the trilogy.
But until I know the ending and final word count I can’t say for certain.
I may finish this rewrite, cut it into three stories, then focus in on each book separately so I can get them published faster.
Then again, I’d rather publish them shortly after one another.
Ugh these decision suck. And no one can really make them for me. There’s benefits to both sides.
Either way I need to finish this rewrite before I progress past it in plans.
I have the desire again to work on The Secret of Luna (finally). The full moon brings up the werewolves in my thoughts. To think, though, it’s been four months since I did anything to the story. Two months since I realized why I couldn’t do anything. I need a rewrite there. It won’t be as long and grueling as Dove at least. It will be complete before it hits 100k.
Another thing heavy on my mind is Dragon Rider 7th Grade. I should break my work on Dove and get a good edit through of the story. It’s time for one. If I get a good edit through right now, I can do another one end of the month. A week pause is really required between editing rounds. Four weeks between rewrites. Minimum of a week between editing. Mostly because you can switch out what exactly you’ll be looking for in edits. You need the delay so your brain doesn’t know every detail you meant and only reads the ones you wrote. It’s important to get to that state.
Dragon Rider 7th Grade is half way to finish already. The big stuff is done. The rewrite has it up to decent quality. It probably needs four editing rounds before another formatting round and test print. If you are interested in reading it as is, ask. I can send you the current copy. I just ask you for any responses you have from it. If you read it right now, you become a beta reader.
Genie Wishes is… No one read it. No one was interested. So I lost interest. I’m focusing on the stuff that is headed toward publishment. Genie Wishes is a formed story in my head. There’s a lot open yet. It’s a series of shorts. Each short has a plot. The overarching plot is all planned. The each plot within each story isn’t. So if you have an idea for a plot (even if its bad), I’ll go back and start working on it. I love the idea to Genie Wishes, but it doesn’t hold the same power as Dove, Dragon Rider 7th Grade, and The Secret of Luna. These three need me right now. My readers of them need me. I can’t put them off.
Two Boots, One Date
These three are short stories I’m thinking of getting published if The Bet and Other Fiction Short Stories doesn’t happen soon. They are shorts within that collection. The Spoon, Dark Silence, Happy Puppy, and Beautiful are already published and would join this collection as well. If you are interested in any of these three speak up.
I’m doing well from my viewpoint. I’m not good enough for comfort in any sense. But I’m moving forward. I’m writing every day (although not necessarily in my stories). I’ve been doing free ebooks through smashwords monthly getting my sales up. I’ve sold a few books this year for profit (is it profit yet?).

Check them out if you’re interested. Amazon doesn’t allow for free ebooks without fighting tooth and nail, so nothing is free there. Smashwords puts the ebooks in places Amazon doesn’t go, though. It allows you to find my stories pretty much everywhere. I make the most profit off my ebooks through smashwords.
And as a note, many of my ebooks are set to free or 99 cents for library partners. So if you don’t want to ask me for a free copy, ask your library. The paperbacks are $10 or $15. The ebooks are all less than $5 minus the series ebook.
