Poem: Little White Dress

(Poem three. It’s not what you think it is. Recall what I just went through.)

Little White Dress

I’m looking forward to wearing it
made for the biggest of gathering
and I’ll be center of attention

this little white dress I have
will make everyone sad
because I am no longer available

The tears you shed while dressing
won’t disturb the peace
find comfort in helping me

my make up is perfection
my lips are sewn right
and soon I’ll be resting forever

Don’t worry about me
I’m dressed to impress
just focus on the eulogy

I’ll miss our nightly battles
I’ll miss your foolish thoughts
Even after death, I still love you

Thank you for my little white dress
I’ll wear it always
While hiding in your heart
